SAR-6
Superior design,
incredible track record.
The SAR-6 is the raft of
choice of professional search and rescue teams around the
world. The rugged offshore life raft features an auto
erecting convertible canopy, twin over sized tubes, the
patented toroidal ballast system for improved stability, and
a choice of two different heat sealed floors. The boat shape
design provides extra leg room for six people and offers the
highest level of protection from the elements in both
coastal and offshore situations.
OPR
SWITLIK Signature convertible
canopy.
The Convertible Canopy
System allows the OPR to be inflated with the canopy still
furled. This allows for easier boarding from either the
water or your vessel. Once in the OPR, you can quickly
inflate the arch tubes with the separate C02 inflation
system and zip close the Bimini top cover for protection.
Four boarding steps with
ladders to get in quickly.
The wide, sturdy steps and
stiffened rung ladders allow you to easily climb over the
twin tubes from any side, even wearing a life jacket.
Whether the canopy is furled, or the arch tubes are up, you
can get multiple people into the raft, fast.
Lightest and most compact.
The OPR provides all the
performance and quality of SWITLIK’s other offshore rafts in
half the weight. The OPR is vacuum sealed with an air charge
inside either a soft valise or hard fiberglass container.
Both options are compact enough to be carried aboard a boat
of any size and handled by any passenger.
Designed for you.
Serious thought went into
every detail and component of the OPR’s design. From the
soothing blue interior and ventilated canopy that help to
prevent sea sickness and increase visibility, to the
reflective components and stabilizing features, the OPR was
designed with your comfort and safety in mind.
Quality Materials
superior construction.
Board quick and easy.
Boarding a life raft from a boat or the water can be
difficult. That is why the OPR is built with four (4)
boarding stations. Each boarding ladder has a wide, stiff
step to make it easier to climb over twin tubes.
When there’s a need for speed
The SWITLIK signature convertible canopy feature also allows
passengers from any generation to quickly get off your
vessel and safely into the raft. Multiple entry points
reduce the need for anyone to get in the water.
5
Year Service Interval.
Unlike any other raft on the market, the OPR’s soft valise
and hard container options each have a first of its kind 5
year service interval. This extended service interval helps
to reduce the overall cost of life raft ownership. SWITLIK
accomplished this in a responsible manner through the
combined use of our patented and military proven
hermetically sealed packaging system and compressed air
inflation. This better protects the raft’s materials and
provides excellent cold weather inflation performance versus
traditional CO2 inflation systems.
Be confident your raft is ready.
With SWITLIK’s air charge inflation system, there is now a
visible “go/no go” pressure gauge that lets you know your
raft is ready to deploy. Time sensitive survival equipment
is packed in an external pocket allowing for updating
without the cost of servicing the actual life raft.
Stay
put on the water.
The OPR comes standard with four high-capacity rapidly
deploying weight
ballast bags. The water pockets provide weight to the raft
to keep it stable during entry and exit. The OPR is also
upgradable to the full wrap around Torodial Stability Device
(TSD). The SWITLIK TSD provides superior stability and has
been proven by the USCG, the RAAF as well as other SAR
Organizations worldwide, to be the best option for keeping a
raft stable and upright during all conditions including the
helicopter rescue.
Righting the raft.
Your life raft was designed to inflate right-side up.
However, wind and waves may cause it to inflate upside down.
If this happens, the boarding ladder can be reversed to help
you easily right the raft. Climbing the ladder nearest to
the inflation cylinder you can use the righting strap to
help pull yourself up, and flip the raft over.
Ventilation and Visibility.
A serious cause of
seasickness is the bright orange light which filters through
the orange canopy fabric of other rafts. The soothing opaque
blue coating that lines SWITLIK’s raft canopies prevents
sunlight from passing through the canopy, so there is no
flickering of light. The convertible canopy also provides
four openings to allow for ventilation, and 360° of
visibility.
Reflection is key.
High visibility raft canopy
fabric and strategically located reflective patches improve
the visibility of the life raft during rescue. The OPR has
an exterior light that is activated upon raft deployment, as
well as SOLAS-grade reflective tape and patches located all
around the raft.
Quality Materials
superior construction.
SWITLIK’s OPR-HD is designed to be a high quality, heavy
duty ISO-9650 compliant version of the OPR, with a
convertible canopy system, Toroidal Stability Device and
heat sealed construction. The OPR-HD provides 1,350 lbs. of
inflated buoyancy and 24 sq. ft. of floor area and offers
excellent ventilation as well as total protection from the
elements.
